An Outdoor movie night can be so much fun, especially on those warm breezy summer evenings. Come on in and see how we celebrated Zootopia with this movie night!

Disney’s ZOOTOPIA broke all kinds of records, including becoming the 4th animated film to cross the 1 billion dollar milestone. Amazing, right?! We were first introduced to ZooTopia during an Orlando press junket where the family and I saw an early movie screening. I also had the pleasure of interviewing Jason Bateman who voices the clever fox, Nick Wilde, in the film. Jason is just as funny in person, and charming too!
I was thrilled when Disney reached back out – this time to host an outdoor movie night. It’s something my husband and I have always thought of investing in, and here was our chance! ZooTopia’s Blu-Ray & DVD release just so happened to coincide with the beginning of summer. Those clever Disney folks! 😉 So, to kick off summer we invited friends over to enjoy a family favorite – ZooTopia under the stars!

I love any excuse to go shopping, don’t you? I always take the boys to OshKosh B’Gosh because they have the most fantastic sales, especially on back to school outfits! My older son, J, is into sports – as you’ll notice in his choices for back to school wear. Above he’s sporting a football tee and mesh lined track pants in navy with yellow stripes down the sides. I was recently asked by The J.M. Smucker Company to create some unique tips for using a new product and I wanted to share that with all of you.
Last week I shared our upcoming plans for a play date at the park. Kids always work up an appetite when playing, so we shopped at Walmart for snacks like pretzel sticks, Jif To Go Dippers and Smuckers Uncrustables. I also shared my secret tip on keeping the kids busy while shopping so there’s no unruly behavior. Be sure to check out that post if you missed it!
Good for you snacks are a must in our house! But there’s always fun, playful ways to display those snacks and bring a smile to your child’s face. Here’s a fun idea I created using the snacks we purchased. Cute, right?
Many times after dinner, we do an activity as a family like a walk around the neighborhood or an evening swim. Often times, my 7 year old and I elect to take a mile run. He’s an awesome motivator and loves running.
While it’s normal to crave a snack after burning calories, it’s not the best idea to reach for sweets like cookies. Yoplait® Yogurt varieties is a wholesome alternative everyone in the family can enjoy. With flavors like Cherry Cheesecake Yoplait Whips and Banana Caramel Greek 100 yogurt it’s easy to curb that sweet tooth.
Lately it’s been raining day and night here in Florida. Thankfully, the sun came out and we were able to enjoy a swim before bedtime. [Read more…]

As summer is coming to a close, there are still a few things left on our checklist to complete. We promised the boys a day at the bowling alley, play date at the park, and swimming party with friends. With only 2 weeks left until school begins here, we’re working some serious magic to make all of those fun things happen.
Did summer break fly by for you too? I am trying my best to savor these moments with the boys, as both will be in school this year. Yes, my littlest guy is 4 and beginning Pre-K. That’s going to be a tough first day, and I’m not talking about L, I’m talking about me! Can any of you moms relate?
Have it for breakfast, snack time, or dessert! These fresh fruit frozen yogurt pops will be a huge hit anytime of day. Made with delicious Yoplait® yogurt and fresh fruit, this wholesome treat is super easy to make.
I’m not sure if it’s the summer heat or growth spurts, but my boys are constantly asking for something to snack on. They love to eat yogurt right out of the container, but today I decided to switch things up. I froze it! Yes, frozen yogurt is nothing new, but what kid doesn’t want a popsicle for breakfast? Yogurt has great benefits like calcium, live & active cultures, Vitamin D and protein. Plus Yoplait has actively worked towards a path of goodness by removing high fructose corn syrup and aspartame, and recently decreasing the amount of sugar in their product by 25%! [Read more…]

Feed your kids and you’ll help a child in need. How simple is that? Your kids are always hungry right? At least my two boys are! So we always have many snacks on hand, especially when on the go. Snack bars are an easy way to sustain hunger until the next meal, and less messy too! So when I found out about Kristen Bell (from that little ole’ movie FROZEN!) and her co-founders creating This Kid Saves Lives snack bars to help starving children around the world, I wanted to help!
More on how you can make a difference
Ryan Devlin, co-founder of This Bar Saves Lives shares, “We believe in creating high-quality, healthy and delicious food for people here that gives back to others around the world, which is why for every box you buy, we send life-saving food to a child in need. We eat together.” Kristen and co-founders launched their newest snack bars, This Kid Saves Lives, designed specifically for kids. Kristen mentions,“This Bar Saves Lives are both healthy and helpful.” [Read more…]
Typical summer weekends include an excursion of some sorts. This weekend, we were beach bound in Sarasota, Florida.
While the boys played in the waves, I found time to relax and unwind in the sand. My beach bag always includes a few drinks and snacks for when someone gets hungry. Personally, my snack of choice is usually something sweet. Why waist calories if it’s not chocolate, right?! 🙂 That’s my motto at least, after I’ve had a balanced meal of course. And being a mom of 2 young boys can deplete my energy at times, so OREO’s new 2-packs are the perfect way to satisfy my sweet tooth craving on-the-go.
The power of protein. Our bodies need it for bones, muscles, and body chemicals, among other things. Because the body does not store protein, it’s important to add it in throughout the day. It is especially beneficial when working out because protein can be converted by the body into glucose for energy. Today I’m sharing one of my favorite protein packed pre-workout snacks: Oatmeal with Vanilla Silk Soymilk and cinnamon apples.
Since oats contain more protein than any other common grain, they are the perfect pre-workout snack. Substitute regular milk for Silk Soymilk, which includes 8 grams of plant-powered protein per serving, no cholesterol, and naturally lower saturated fat. It’s really a win-win for your workouts.
Additional Silk Soymilk benefits include:

I love to drink lemonade year-round. It’s one of my favorite drinks – and always makes me think of never-ending summer fun! Country Time Lemonade Starter is flavored with real lemon juice and comes in a variety of flavors: Half-Lemonade and Half-Iced Tea, Berry Lemonade and Classic Lemonade. [Read more…]
The weather is finally heating up, which means we’ll be spending even more time outdoors. Since we’re always on the go, it’s imperative that I have snacks for the family on hand. These boys are always hungry. I like shopping at Publix because it’s convenient, clean and always has great sales, like their weekly BOGO deals. So, when I found this exclusive coupon to save on my family’s favorite snacks, I had to make a run for the store.

Who are you when you’re hungry? I’m not myself – at all! I become grumpy, cranky, and totally out of sorts. I stick to 3 meals a day and if I waiver off course by an hour or more from my typical schedule, I become pretty darn feisty. I’m definitely not fun to be around.
Hulk is a fairly good representation of my mood when I’m hungry. Can you relate? Hulk Smash! [Read more…]

We have some ultimate football fans in our home. And while we are divided on team favorites, we all come together for family fun and good food. My 6-year-old is such a sports fanatic that he keeps a running tab on every game each week. Ask him just about anything about the game, players, or team stats and he can answer it for you. It’s quite impressive. Oh, and it’s never quiet around here on game day. These boys are
