When I was pregnant with my first son I was lucky enough to have what I would call “normal” pregnancy cravings. I didn’t want pickles and ice cream or anything out of the ordinary. Instead, I craved banana everything! Prior to being pregnant I liked bananas, but not like this….this was on another level. My favorite thing I enjoyed while pregnant with him was banana bread with chocolate chips. Banana bread alone is super delicious, but once you add chocolate it really takes your taste buds on an adventure! Since I was feeling nostalgic, I decided to make this amazing Banana Chocolate Chip Bread to share with all of you.

Do you remember the nostalgia of finding a toy in your cereal box? Growing up, that was something my brother and I always looked forward to. I recently came upon my collection of figures from cereal boxes and fast food kids meals that I accumulated as a child. The boys had quite a field day looking at my old memorabilia. It’s pretty neat how trends circle back around. Apparently mommy is cool because the boys recognized several of my toys. 😉

I am a born and raised Floridian. When the temperatures drop below 60 degrees I become a hermit of sorts. I just don’t like shivering! So when my son had a day off from school recently, and the weather was cold outside, I offered to do a fun activity to warm up our day. Instead of making cinnamon rolls the traditional way, I asked the boys if they would like to make a snowman. They excitedly said, “yes!”
How to make snowman sweet rolls
- Open a package of Pepperidge Farm sweet rolls and place the rolls on a baking sheet.
- Begin by removing a small portion of the rolls’ outer layer and set aside. Place that roll on top of another to begin building your snowman.
- Next, use the small dough piece you removed from the middle layer to create a scarf for the snowman. Then repeat step 2, removing a larger portion so that the top roll is smaller than the other two.
- Place that roll on top of the other two, then use the dough to craft a hat for the snowman.
- Bake them as directed on the packaging.
While the sweet rolls are baking, I whipped up this killer cream cheese icing recipe. It takes just a few minutes to make and is seriously delicious.

It’s not too often that we all get to sit down for breakfast as a family. My husband is out the door before any of us wake up in the morning, but dinner is another story. Dinner in my home growing up was always eaten as a family at the dining room table. No TV, tech devices, no couch. Just good old family conversation around the dinner table, and that tradition lives on today in my home with my family.
Because breakfast together is a rare treat, I occasionally surprise everyone with breakfast for dinner. With my little guy in tow we headed to Winn Dixie courtesy of #CollectiveBias to pick up the ingredients for decked out chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and smoothies. By the way, how cute is that mini cart L is pushing around?
I also grabbed a bottle of Lifeway Kefir lowfat strawberry banana smoothie. My chiropractor, Dr. Dan, suggested the product and mentioned these benefits, “Kefir helps by flushing out the bad bacteria from your intestines, which aides in regulating your digestion, metabolism, cholesterol and blood sugar levels.” We are somewhat smoothie addicts around here, so to try one that has so many benefits was a win-win.

As parents, it’s almost a requirement that we learn how to multi-task to get through our days. Many mornings in our home consist of me doing for others; i.e. breakfast for the boys, preparing lunch for my 1st grader, making sure everyone’s brushed their teeth and dressed for the day, all while listening to an interesting story or invention the boys want to share with me. Needless to say, it’s a bit hectic. By the time we’ve rushed out the door, I haven’t had a chance to do much for myself, including eat breakfast. Yes, I am totally that mom wearing pj’s in the carpool lane!
