Baymax rice krispies treats

As you know, we are big Marvel fans, so when Disney and Marvel collaborated to create the amazing Big Hero 6 movie, we were pretty ecstatic. And after my recent visit to LA to interview the film directors and voices behind Tadashi, Hiro, and Baymax – I couldn’t wait to bring home the movie for my boys. I decided to plan a fun after school adventure last Friday, complete with Baymax Rice Krispies Treats.

Once lil guy and I picked J up from school we headed to our local Walmart store to buy their exclusive Big Hero 6 gift set with bonus DVD. The entertainment department has the “new releases” stand easy accessible from the aisle. As you can see L was pretty excited to have the movie in his hands. We also picked up the ingredients needed to make our fun Baymax treats.

Edexpo Recap + Top 10 Blogger Picks #EdExpo2015

Last weekend I attended Edexpo in Atlanta, Ga – a large conference for educators and buyers. It was rows and rows of education based products! I think it’s a safe bet to assume we walked a few miles each day during the conference. It was definitely a lot of fun chatting with vendors, and testing out products from companies such as Crayola, School Zone, and Edupress. While there, myself along with 59 other bloggers had the opportunity to walk the floor and select our collective top 10 products we feel are the best of the best for 2015. Pete the Cat even made an appearance, check out Kim from Educators’ Spin on It and myself getting a selfie with him!

Because Every Kid Deserves to Play + 2 Playground Activities #ValpakSaves

This post is sponsored by Valpak

The winter weather is almost behind us! This weekend Central Florida showed signs of warmer weather on the horizon with comfortable temps in the mid 70’s. The boys enjoyed a fun day of play at the neighborhood playground. It’s a great place to meet other kids in their age group and for moms to chat too!

every kid deserves to play

Let’s get active! Here’s 2 Playground Activities that are easy and fun!

Scavenger Hunts – doing a simple Google image search pulls up tons of Scavenger Hunt ideas – like nature or season-themed lists. If the kids are too young to read, draw or clip pictures to include in their list. It’s not only a fun activity, but a great learning tool!

Follow the Leader – bring a variety of outdoor items to the playground like balls, a hula hoop, buckets and more. Then use those items for creative ways to follow the leader while at the playground. It’s fun, creative play for the kids – and parents too! [Read more…]
