I was invited as media to attend a media event. Resort accommodations and resort credit were included. No additional compensation was received.
If you caught all the excitement two weekends ago on my social media pages then you know just how much fun I was having at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa. Accommodations included a luxurious 1 bedroom villa with full kitchen, dining room, living room, jetted tub and more. Upon check-in you are assigned a bellman who escorts you to your building. He hops in a golf cart and you follow him through the large property to your destination. He then helps you unload your car and places everything in your room. Talk about service, and that is included with every stay!
The extra long balcony in the villa includes seating for up to four people with exits via the bedroom and living room spaces. I appreciated the screen to keep bugs out so we could leave the doors open and catch the summer breeze.
Not only did the villa include a spacious jetted tub, but also a large walk-in shower with two shower heads. For added convenience there is a stackable washer and dryer in the room as well.
The property is huge and includes 8 heated pools!! There are several spas, game rooms, and an activity center with loads of daily activities for the entire family to get involved in. Some of the daily activities you can expect are poolside games, family bingo, tie dye creations, create your own sundaes, and more. Sunset Key pool (pictured below) is the perfect place to wind down and catch the nightly fireworks from the theme parks across the lake.
Speaking of the lake located towards the back of the property – stop in at the marina to rent paddle boats, canoes, fishing equipment and more. Life vests are provided as well. My little guy enjoyed his first fishing experience while at Westgate Lakes. Although he did not catch a fish personally, he did witness another guest catch a large mouth bass and looks forward to another fishing adventure. Bicycle rentals are available at the activities center for a fun trek around the property.
Pirate themed mini golf is right across the marina pathway with 18 holes of family fun. We appreciated that most of the course was shaded so we could enjoy the activity with ease. And of course we had to check out the many, many resort pools! There’s actually one shaped like Mickey Mouse, which is fitting considering it’s minutes from all the Disney theme parks.
Serenity Spa is open daily and offers guests a relaxing experience. Services include massages, facials, nail services, body treatments, and much more. Pricing is quite reasonable too, making it easier to enjoy multiple services.
We dined at the Westgate Smokehouse Grill for a breakfast buffet and later for dinner. Their portions are quite huge, and very tasty too. This is their version of a side salad. Thankfully leftovers can be easily stowed in the full-sized refrigerator back at the room. 🙂
Our stay at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa also included tickets to #LaNouba at Downtown Disney. The show was incredible and a must-see!
Other dining restaurants on site at Westgate Lakes include Sid’s Bistro, Cordovano Joe’s Pizza, and Joe’s Marketplace. The resort also offers complimentary shuttle service to and from the many surrounding theme parks. The large property offers volleyball and tennis courts for guests, as well as a Fitness Center.
Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is conveniently located near all of the Orlando based theme parks, and offers an abundance of amenities for guests. We had a wonderful experience, and even stayed an additional night on our own dime because we wanted to take in all that the resort offered.
If you are planning a visit to Orlando, or looking for a nice “staycation” I highly recommend checking out the Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa. Each month they offer a special during one weekend where you can stay for 3 nights + receive 2 tickets to a show, $100 Downtown Disney dining certificate, and a special VIP dinner all for $299 per couple!! Yes, that’s an amazing deal! The next weekend for this special is June 27-30 and includes tickets to LaNouba. Book your Orlando vacation now! It’s really nice that the spa services are priced reasonably, because sometimes one just isn’t enough. 😉 I loved La Nouba, by the way.
