Over the weekend, I decided to update my highlights. I went back to the same salon in the mall I went to previously and got the last appointment of the day. The lady who was working on my hair was taking twice as long as it normally would take for highlights, but I just figured she was being meticulous and I was enjoying some rare ME time. After my shampoo/wash, we headed back to the chair and she kept me sideways where I couldn’t see myself in the mirror while she blow dried my hair. When all was said and done, I did NOT like it. My “blonde” highlights were almost white, which means she didn’t put the toner in long enough or chose a really light color. It was not a fun situation, and to make matters worse, it was closing time for the salon. I went home embarrassed and called in the next morning for a different stylist to “fix” my hair. My hair still isn’t exactly as I wanted it, but I can live with this color over the other. Here’s the before and after pics I took.
Monday – We took a family walk around the pond/lake near our home and I captured this pretty sunset on our walk.
Tuesday – School pictures were sent home of my little man. Doesn’t he look cute? He’s so ready for his two front teeth to grow in. He spends many minutes each morning looking for them in the mirror. LOL
Wednesday – We headed to nearby soccer fields to work on J’s game. He’s decided to switch things up after several seasons of t-ball/baseball and wants to give soccer a shot. Can u spot L aka Superman playing goalie too?
Thursday – I snapped this pic of the boys at bedtime while Daddy read them a story. I just love them!

Oh my goodness, what a terrible job that first one did on your hair. I used to go to Empire Beauty salon. They are students and they are working under a teacher. It is cheaper and I have never had bad service. Since it is so cheap I always tip well. And what a cutie pie, looking for his teeth! LOL!

I’m always scared to get my hair done. Even when I go to the same stylist. It just seems like I can never have a repeat of a great cut/color experience.

Your hair looks great! I need to get mine done in a bad, bad way.

I moved about four years ago and still have had a hard time finding a salon I just love.
His school picture is adorable!

Great pictures of the kids. Sorry about your hair. At least you were able to get it fixed the next day. What a pain.

School pictures are the best! Seriously, my kids’ crack me up every time.

what a disaster with the highlilghts at least you were able to fix it with the box solution.

I had that happen to me as well, but instead of white in was GRAY! My color was better before she started than after. She was so sorry, she did not have me pay for the color, just the cut! Sooo disappointed! So i went brought a box and colored my own hair, I liked it then!
The school picture of J is so different from last year! He is growing up! 🙂

What a sweet bedtime picture. Ten years from now you might have to show the boys the picture and remind them of how they got a long.

OMG I hate that! You go into a salon thinking the people should be qualified w their job and leave unsatisfied and w a lot of less $$ in your pocket for something not to your standards! I hope they fixed it for free for you! Love the sunset picture and your son looks adorable in his school pics!

Yep! Thankfully there was no additional charge to fix it, but I did offer the other stylist a tip so I still shelled out more than I should’ve for a job not well done.

It is so hard to find a good salon that will do what you ask. I have been to several salons and not one yet have I felt they did what I wanted and left disappointed. The boys are so adorable and getting so big!! 🙂

Thank you! 🙂
