Recently I’ve come to a conclusion about my baby boy. Many babies get attached to a special “blankie” or stuffed toy, but our little one never did. The reason why? Because I AM his “blankie”. At two, he still needs Mommy to go to sleep. We are co-sleepers and while I adore that one-on-one time I get with my little guy, it’s really time for him to transition into his own room, and bed! Plus it’s driving my hubby crazy! 🙂
He is used to sleeping on me, literally! Both an arm and leg are strategically placed on me when he heads off to dreamland…..Therefore we needed to be armed with a solid plan of weaning our co-sleeper from our bed.
Part of that process started with afternoon naps in his toddler bed. Most of the time he would take his full nap there, sometimes though he would come “searching” for me. I would hold him while he nodded right back to sleep, then place him back in his bed a few minutes later.
Once nap time was successful we began the full transition into his toddler bed. Because kids can have separation anxiety about the process, and some parents too (me, me, me!), I went looking for a solution.
- DECT 6.0 interference free communication
- Up to 1000 feet range!!
- Digital transmission providing superior security and sound quality – no white noise
- Two way communication between the parent and baby units (Talk-Back feature)
- 5 LED sound indicator
- Night light on baby unit
- Belt clip on parent unit
- Rechargeable battery in parent unit
- Backlit display on parent unit
- Vibration Sound Alert in parent unit
Yes, all of that is packed into those babies above! My favorite feature is the Talk-Back intercom system. When we hear our little guy begin calling for Mommy, I can pick up the parent unit and press the talk feature to quickly remind him that Mommy is right here and to lay back down.
Another feature I really like is the Night light on the baby unit. The loop lights up offering just the right amount of light for the dark room.
I also appreciate the Belt clip option for when I step in the garage to do laundry, etc. The sound quality is excellent, and we’re really happy with the VTech Safe & Sound baby monitor overall.
The VTech Safe & Sound Digital Audio Monitor is available for only $39.95! That is a steal in my book! It’s affordable and high quality. We highly recommend this for any family bringing home a new baby, or transitioning one into his own crib or bed.
