I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Playskool. I received product samples to facilitate my party and review, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
Play dates are a great way for kids and moms to get together for a fun-filled afternoon. The boys love having friends over and I enjoy the chance to catch up with friends. Recently Playskool sent along some of their 2014 collection for the kids to test out. Elmo was always a favorite character for both of my boys. When J was a toddler he only wanted to see Elmo on the TV. Any other part of Sesame Street was ignored until that adorable red monster came on the screen.
New from Playskool is Let’s Imagine Elmo!
Geared towards children ages 2-4, Let’s Imagine Elmo is an interactive plush toy that offers learning fun. Elmo comes with 3 different hats that unlock imaginary themes and play modes. Place the crown on Elmo’s head to play with “Prince Elmo,” try out the cowboy hat to learn numbers with “Countin’ Cowboy,” or put on the sea captain hat for a “Sounds of the Sea” game.
The kids had a blast playing with Elmo, especially the littlest of the bunch. There were lots of giggles both from Elmo and the kids.
Other new toys we tested out from Playskool were the Stack N’ Spin Monkey Gears toy and Transformers Mixable, Mashable Heroes. The Stack N’ Spin Monkey Gears is for babies 9 months and up. Little ones can build up the fun by placing colorful gears all around their monkey friend, then press the center button to watch them spin, light up, and activate the music. This toy encourages fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
The Transformers Mixable, Mashable Optimus Prime and Grimlock toy was a favorite at the play date. The bigger boys ages 3-6 really enjoyed interacting with this toy. Geared towards children ages 2 and up, Optimus Prime spud and Grimlock spud battle the Decepticons. It’s buildable fun! Buy other varieties and mix and match the characters for even more options.
Of course no play date is complete without a yummy snack. All of that playing can work up an appetite! And with Sesame Street colored cupcakes, who could resist? 😉
Be sure to look for the latest Playskool toys hitting shelves this fall!

We actually have the Stack N Spin Monkey Gears and our 10 month old loves it! It entertains the 4 year old too when he is playing together with his little brother.
