Disney Investor Day 2020 just unloaded a huge amount of Disney+ new releases. There’s SO much to look forward to in 2021 and beyond, especially after 2020 tanked much of our entertainment world. Here’s a great big list of Disney+ series, films, and more!
Disney+ New Releases for 2021 and Beyond
First up is Disney Animation and Pixar:
This list of projects is extensive and we couldn’t be happier about it!
- Raya and the Last Dragon will debut simultaneously on Disney+ Premier Access and in theatres in March 2021. Premier Access for the title will be priced at $29.99.
Disney Animation’s first-ever original animated series on #Disneyplus will include:
- Baymax!, Zootopia+, and Tiana, based on The Princess and The Frog, all release in 2022
- While Moana, the series, releases on Disney+ in 2023
Additionally, Iwájú, a long-form series that will be produced in collaboration with the Pan-African comic book entertainment company Kugali releases 2022
New Pixar films include:
- Lightyear, an origin story for Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Chris Evans), is hitting theaters (no announcement on Disney+ but we’re hoping) in summer 2022
New Pixar series include:
- Pixar Popcorn, shorts featuring iconic Pixar characters, start streaming in January 2021
- Dug Days, a new series featuring the beloved dog Dug from Up, premieres in fall 2021
- Pixar is also speeding ahead with a new series (Cars) following Lightning McQueen and Mater on a road trip across the country. Featuring new characters, old friends, and imaginative destinations; coming to Disney+ in Fall 2022.
- Win or Lose, Pixar’s first-ever long-form animated series, which debuts exclusively on Disney+ in February 2023, follows a middle school softball team in the week leading up to their championship game, and each episode is told from the perspective of a different character.
Disney+ Marvel Series include:
- WandaVision starts streaming on Jan. 15, 2021! Check out the trailer below:
- The Falcon and the Winter Soldier releases on Disney+ March 19, 2021. Check out the just-released trailer below:
- Loki, the highly anticipated short series based on Tom Hiddleston’s God of mischief character is scheduled to release May 2021.
- What If…? Marvel Studios’ first animated series heads to Disney+ in Summer 2021
- Ms. Marvel is planned for late 2021
- A Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, and more is also scheduled for late 2021
- She-Hulk comedy series – plus, expect a visit from Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo, in the Marvel Studios series (TBD)
- Secret Invasion, starring Samuel L. Jackson; Ironheart with Dominique Thorne as a genius inventor; and Armor Wars, starring Don Cheadle as James Rhodes aka War Machine who faces Tony Stark’s worst fears. All slated for TBD dates.
- As well as, Moon Knight, Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2023), and a series of original shorts, I Am Groot, featuring everyone’s favorite baby tree.
We are still rolling out the Disney+ new releases!
Lucas film releases include:
- Obi-Wan Kenobi, starring Ewan McGregor with Hayden Christensen returning as Darth Vader (TBD late 2021/early 2022)
- 2 spinoffs of The Mandalorian include: Rangers of the New Republic and Ahsoka (TBD late 2021)
- Andor is coming to Disney+ in 2022
- Additional new titles announced for Disney+ include Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Star Wars: Visions, Lando, The Acolyte, and A Droid Story. (TBD)
I wasn’t joking when I mentioned Disney made a huge announcement recently. All of these are scheduled for Disney+ while there are still more films releasing in theaters too!

With everything at a standstill it is great that they are still making movies. Hopefully when they are released we can see them in a theater and enjoy a big screen.
