Want to create a fun Jake & the Neverland themed playdate or party for your preschool pirates? You’ve come to the right place! Today I’m sharing pirate-themed ideas for pulling off a swashbuckling party.
I received products in order to host a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate. The opinions expressed here are my own.
Jake and the Neverland Pirates Playdate Party
- Decor – head to your local party store for plates, napkins, and other accessories to set the ambiance.
- Food – think finger foods. Kids can get sidetracked very easily when playing with friends, so provide simple food options like tortilla roll-ups and fruit kabobs.
- Activities – consider 2-3 pirate-themed activities for the kids to do while at the playdate. DisneySideCelebrations.com is a great resource for creative Jake and the Neverland activities like a printable pirate treasure chest or treasure map coloring pages.
- Party favors – don’t forget to send your friends home with party favors, pirate-themed of course! Consider items like pirate necklaces, party hats, coloring books and crayons.
As I mentioned above, finger foods work best with preschoolers especially. I chose to make these tortilla roll-ups with mayo, cheese and sandwich meat. After rolling up the wrap, I cut it into 2 inch sandwich bites. Fruit kabobs are always a favorite in our home so I cut cheese cubes, strawberry and grape halves and placed them on skewers. I printed out these skull and crossbones next then cut out small squares and taped them to the pointy side of the skewer.
Don’t forget something for the parents to munch on too. Consider this bite-sized Triscuit appetizer for them. All of these food options were simple, tasty, and took little time to pull off.
We had fun playing a Disney Side Bingo game and Kinetic Sand kit during our playdate. Since pirates are always on a quest for buried treasure, consider a game to incorporate that idea. Before the party hide trinkets like gold dubloons, pirate necklaces, and crocodiles in a sandbox. Divide the partygoers into 2 teams and have them search for treasure. Once time is up, see which team found the most treasure!

How sweet are those fruit skewers? I know for kids’ parties I come up with a ton of dessert ideas, but finding healthy options to serve is a little more challenging for me. These would be perfect!

They were a huge hit too! 🙂
