Earlier this year we visited Gaylord Palms Orlando for a pre-ICE! event. This weekend ICE! officially opened it’s doors and we were welcomed back to enjoy the experience. This was the boys first time visiting the winter wonderland of carved sculptures.
We started off our evening by visiting the cookie decorating table where both boys joined in on picking their favorite color frosting and toppings to put on their cookies.
We then watched a beautiful live show called Luminescence, a magical concert featuring special effects, dazzling lighting and aerial choreography, telling the story of Christmas in an unforgettable way.
Next we headed onto the main attraction ICE!, Florida’s favorite frigid Christmas tradition, with over 20,000 square-feet of frosty 9-degree bliss, including TWO MILLION pounds of ice and an all-new, awe-inspiring tribute to the unforgettable DreamWorks’ Animation TV classic Merry Madagascar.
The kids loved seeing all the ice sculpture displays and the big slide was a hit too!
We had a wonderful time at the Gaylord Palms ICE! experience and look forward to returning next year!
ICE! is open daily from November 10, 2012 through January 1, 2013, including holidays. Buy tickets online here and save. And don’t forget it’s really 9 degrees in there! I highly recommend dressing for the occasion, including bringing a pair of gloves or mittens. They do provide everyone, including kids with a blue hooded parka to help keep you warm.
Disclosure: All opinions are my own and may differ from yours. We were invited to enjoy the ICE! experience as media. No other compensation was received.
