Sometimes I wonder where kids come up with the funny stuff they say. And they are so good at being funny without even trying! My husband brought home this hilarious paper the first graders gave him on how to cook a turkey, and I just had to share the humor with all of you.
How to cook a turkey according to first graders:
“Go to the chicken store and get a big chicken that looks like a turkey. Put it in the oven for a couple of seconds on medium hot. You know it’s done when the timer goes ding. It will look yellow and white. Twist off the hammer parts and eat them first.” – Travion
“Get a turkey from Wal-Mart. Put it in a pot with water. When the water is full of turkey bubbles it is done. Put it on a plate and eat it with a blue fork.” – Sergio
“Get a turkey from the store and cut a hold in the bottom. Put onions and salad inside. Cook it on the stove for 13 hours. When the stove says ding the turkey will be cooked. Put a silver blanket on top to keep it warm.” – Vanessa
“Trap a turkey from a farm. Cut off the feathers and trick in into getting into the oven. Cook it for 5 minutes on middle hot. It will be done when the oven rings and the bone legs and bone arms stick out.” – Kiemaya
“Put the turkey in the oven, and bake it for like 15 minutes. You know it’s done when it looks cooked and has some black stuff on it.” – Jacob
“Go to a farm and get a fat turkey. Cut it up into 4 pieces and put it in a pot. Cook it on the stove on warm for 10 minutes. It will look crunchy and yummy when it is done.” – Grace
‘Get a turkey from Publix and put it in a pan. Put it in the oven on hot for 10 minutes. Put brown barbecue sauce all over it. Even the bones that stick out. When it looks like a brown shiny chicken it is done.” – Jonah
“If you’re a vegetarian you shouldn’t cook a turkey. You can cook potatoes instead. First wash the potatoes then cut them up. Put them in hot water for a long time. When they are wet and mushy they are done.” – Maya
