This post is brought to you by UP, but thoughts and opinions are my own.
Did you tune in last week for the season premiere of Bringing Up Bates on the UP Network? This docu-series is unlike other shows you’ll find on television. It’s wholesome and positive entertainment for the whole family. The series follows Gil and Kelly Jo Bates and their large family – all 19 kids! The Bates’ memories have been filmed by a camera crew, but they still focus on making each moment with one another count. The Bates family has captured marriage, birth and all the precious quiet family moments of family while letting us all share in the fun. Tune in Thursdays at 9pm ET on UP!
The boys and I enjoyed catching up with the Bates family during the premiere last week. I also chatted along during the Twitter party with Bates fans. It’s so hard to find a quality show that the entire family can enjoy, but thanks to the UP network that’s become a whole lot easier. As TV’s trusted home for families, UP promises to tell their stories in away that is relatable, genuine, positive, but most of all fun and entertaining.
Bringing Up Bates Family Moments
Some of my favorite moments from last week episode were when the Bates family enjoyed a rare snow day. All of the kids geared up and headed outside for a day in the snow. When one of the littlest family members took a tumble in the snow the parents were right there to brush him off while his siblings encouraged him to try again. It’s very apparent that Gil and Kelly Jo are bringing up their children with strong family values, which I can truly admire. My husband and I are also making great strides to foster those same values in our own boys.
Another moment from last week’s episode that I appreciated was when Gil came home from surgery. All of the kids were there to greet him and share their heartfelt cards with him. You can see the impact Gil has on the family’s dynamic and how strong of a bond they truly have. It was such a touching moment.
My Family Moments
My family means everything to me. Each day I wake up to two smiling faces followed by hugs and kisses. I cherish those moments and hope they last forever. Being there for my boys and husband is at the forefront of my mind every day. Whether it’s cheering on our son, J, while he plays his favorite sports, or enjoying a family game night at home – we are there for one another.
One of my favorite things to do is plan surprises for everyone. Often times I’m invited on media covered events where I can bring the family. Seeing their faces light up makes my whole day. We recently enjoyed a “staycation” at a resort nearby, and the kids (including my big kid) had the best time dressing up as pirates. 😉 Often times you’ll find me with phone or camera in hand capturing all of our family’s moments. I use social media networks, like Facebook, as an online scrapbook of sorts. It’s a great way to share all of our moments with family and friends near and far. Technology is such a great asset for things like that, don’t you agree?
How do you preserve your best family moments?

Great pics of the family! I can’t decide if I would love or hate having a camera chase me around all day. I would love to have been a fly on the wall for my own wedding. It is great how with 19 kids the Bates family still seem to be so close.

Haha – very true. I bet it would be fun, and other times not so much. And yes, it really comes through how close knit they are.
