Nestled behind the lined streets of elegant homes is the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Golf and Lodge. The 280 acre property became a golf course in the 1960’s, followed by the Bay Hill community that currently surrounds the land. Arnold Palmer played and won a charity event at the course and fell in love with the property, so much so that he purchased the land in 1970. Since taking ownership, Palmer built upon the original vision, turning Bay Hill into the world-class facility that it is today.
Bay Hill Golf and Lodge
We were invited as media for a 2 night stay. All opinions are my own.
The charming lodge holds 70 rooms, and has adjacent properties that house a spa & salon, fitness center, tennis courts, pool, and restaurant. The clubhouse, pro shop, and 2 additional restaurants are connected to the lodge as well.
Lodging includes complimentary internet, local calls, daily newspaper, and complimentary coffee and tea in the hallways. Choose from King or 2 Queen beds, a 27” flat screen TV, DVD player, and patio. Each room includes framed photos from the personal collection of Arnold Palmer.
Bay Hill Golf and Lodge Golf Course
Open to club members and registered guests only, The Champion, Challenger and Charger links feature 27 holes of tour championship golf. Each March, the best golf professionals in the world come to Bay Hill to compete in one of the most popular tournaments on the PGA Tour. The breathtaking course is not to be missed when visiting Bay Hill! Take in the rich history and play alongside the pros.
Stay, play and fish too! The Bay Hill Marina offers half-day fishing excursions where you ride along the shorelines of the Butler Chain of Lakes. Bass fish and enjoy the serenity nature has to offer at this quaint lodge.
My husband and I spent our 11th anniversary weekend at Bay Hill Golf and Lodge. Do you know what we enjoyed most about Bay Hill? The quiet. It was exceptionally quiet and relaxing – nothing like our home life with two young boys. 😉 It’s a great getaway for couples!

Bay Hill is just 10 minutes from Disney, and around the corner from the popular Dr. Phillips area. Find food, shopping and much more within minutes from the Lodge.
While on property, we spent time poolside, and dined at the terrace cafe – where we had excellent service. We also visited the spa for an amazing couples massage, followed by champs’ and strawberries while overlooking the golf course in a private room.
With all of that indulging, we made sure to visit the fitness center for a good workout too. It offers private spaces for men and women and plenty of equipment for all of your workout needs, plus fitness classes too. Nate liked this special stretching machine for post-workouts.
Bay Hill Golf and Lodge is the perfect place to stay and play! It’s tucked away from the city hustle and bustle, but close enough to everything too. We can’t say enough good things about our 2-day getaway. We hope to return and visit the marina for a fishing excursion along the Butler Chain of Lakes one of these days. The property is simply stunning!
Are you a golf enthusiast? What’s your favorite golf course to play at?

I love how home-like and classic the interiors are. The garden seating looks absolutely peaceful!
I know very little about golf but it looks like a nice place to stay.
I am not a golf person but that lodge looks amazing! And separate workout spaces for men and women is brilliant! I don’t think I’ve heard of that in any other resort?
Happy Anniversary! Looks like a laid back spot to vacation!
