The Catch Q&A with Peggy Schnitzer
We first stopped by the wardrobe department where we met costume designer, Peggy Schnitzer (center below). She hand selected several noticeable pieces from The Catch episodes 1-3, as well as look books for us to flip through. The look books are a powerful tool for the costume team, in case there’s a need for a re-shoot, etc. Peggy mentioned, “We document everything, every earring, everything and then we just collect the stuff, so it’s organized.” When asked about how she selects the pieces for the cast, Peggy shares, “I pretty much stick to solid colors because I think it works best for this. There’s a lot going on and they can be distracting sometimes.” We also mentioned that the show has an older nineteen fifties vibe and if she ties that into the wardrobe. Peggy mentioned, “my esthetic by choice is very sixties/early seventies because it always looks best for their bodies. So yeah it’s very much a designer’s dream because there’s a great cast, great bodies, great visuals and the story is fantastic. It’s really fun to pair up with the story in terms of the design aspect of it.”

Watch The Catch on ABC Thursdays at 10/9c.
