Ingredients
8 cups fresh blackberries, 1/3 cup all-purpose flour + 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 1/2 cups rolled oats, 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, lightly packed, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces, pinch of kosher salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F degrees. In a 9×13 baking dish add rinsed and patted dry blackberries. Set aside. In a small bowl add 1/3 cup flour, 1/3 cup sugar, and cinnamon. Mix together and spoon over the blackberries, gently mix together. In a medium bowl add rolled oats, 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, salt, and butter. Using a pastry knife or 2 butter knives, mix together until the ingredients are crumbly. Spoon topping over blackberries. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the blackberry mixture is bubbling.
Recipe Notes
Once blackberry season is over, simply swap the blackberries for apples or another berry that’s in season and follow the same steps below.
