My husband and I are headed to Vegas in the next few weeks to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary! Neither of us have been to Sin City before, however we expect nothing short of a really great time.
While planning for our trip I used a travel guide site call gogobot, “a social travel site that launched in 2010, and is a place on the web you should know about. The company has racked up accolades including being named one of Time’s top sites of 2011 and winner of the 2010 Crunchie award for Best Design.”
I started out by searching for top hotels in Las Vegas.
What I love about the site is that after signing in with a Facebook or twitter account, I can see “friends” who are signed up for the site and read their personal reviews on places they’ve traveled. Knowing someone personally allows me to really take into account that the review posted is accurate and trustworthy.
The Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino caught my eye immediately. I loved the architecture of the hotel and that it reminded me of our 1st anniversary trip to Venice, Italy!
Next, I checked out the attraction recommendations on gogobot. It’s a bit overwhelming because there is just so much to do in Vegas and probably never enough time to see it all in one trip. With that said, I found plenty of great suggestions and made a whole itinerary for our week there.
Of course our focus will be on the Vegas strip, but we do plan to visit a few off-site attractions like the Richard Petty Driving Experience. That will be a real treat for my husband!
I also checked out top dining recommendations while visiting Vegas. I was excited to see they had a Serendipity dessert shop, which we will absolutely be visiting! 🙂
We’re also looking forward to a traditional Italian cuisine at Piero’s. Once a favorite hangout spot for the Rat Pack.
Gogobot was the perfect site for a planner like me. I loved the site recommendations and that I could find everything I needed to know about Vegas all in one place.
Gogobot allows you to tap into the knowledge of your friends when planning a trip anywhere. You can find like-minded travelers and inspiration for your next vacation, creating easy-to-use wishlists you can return to again and again.
And when you are not in vacation mode or planning a trip, you can discover hidden gems in your own neighborhood for entertaining guests or a weekend staycation.
The best part? Every page on Gogobot is personalized. You can see reviews from your friends and people you are following at the top, which allows you to weed out the noise and fraudulent reviews that become a problem on other review sites. Check out Gogobot today!
