This week my wife had a big scare as she confronted a burglar in our neighbor’s yard. She has been shaken all week, but we have talked and taken actions to help her with her anxious feelings. I can’t say that I am surprised by her bravery because she does not back down to anybody, but when you hear things like that happening on the news it still feels distant. When bad things happen right next door, and so close to those that you love, it is really hard to deal with. When tough things happen in life it is a necessity to have an outlet. It is important to have something to take your mind off of the madness and for me it is my weight loss goals.
As I shared last week I have lost 20 pounds in 2 months on the Nutrisystem my way plan. This week I lost another 3 pounds, which brings my weight down from 233 pounds to 210 pounds, a grand total of 23 pounds in 9 weeks! I don’t know if you can relate to this, but I have 2 sets of clothes. I have my college clothes, the ones I fit in when I was in better shape, and my not so in shape clothes. Well, I am happy to announce that I went into our storage and started pulling out some of my college clothes this week. I actually fit in size 36 khakis. I thought I would see how much further I had to go, so I took a deep breath, sucked in my gut, then I realized they fit! I felt really great!
I still have an outfit hanging in my closet that is my “goal outfit”. I have a pair of 34 inch jeans with a medium-sized button up shirt that I used to wear in the infancy of my wife and I’s relationship. I can’t wait to once again fit in those clothes and take Jen out for a night on the town. It is very important that you set weight loss goals along the way because every step is one step closer to your ultimate self. I am very happy that through Nutrisystem I am finding the person I used to be, and I can’t wait for the day when I will only have 1 set of clothes – my healthy clothes!
There’s just 4 weeks left to reach my goal weight, so stick with me!
