Part of being a parent is teaching our children responsibilities. Most kids can begin doing simple chores around the age of 4 or 5 like helping unload the dishwasher, putting items in the recycle bins, etc. Around the age of 11 I took on the responsibility of handling my own laundry. While my boys are not quite old enough to do that task independently, they are currently in their “helper” stage where they enjoy helping Mommy with household duties.
Recently I came across a new app by Whirlpool called the #WhirlpoolWashsquad:
This easy-to-use app helps turn your family into a team of wash and dry wizards… all from the palm of your hand. The free Whirlpool® WashSquad App lets you:
– Assign laundry jobs to your family
– Track and reward their completed chores
– Create custom laundry guides with wash and dry instructions tailored to your Whirlpool® washer and dryer
And the WashSquad features a Stain Eraser guide and Fabric Coach to help get you through even the toughest of loads without breaking a sweat. Download the free application now and you’ll be on your way to perfectly clean laundry that you didn’t have to do. Now that’s one kind of laundry we can get behind.
My favorite part of the #WhirlpoolWashsquad app is the washboard where I can assign family members to different chores and offer rewards for completing them. It’s a great way to keep track of this never-ending duty, and get help while offering an incentive. The boys like helping me load the laundry into the washer or with moving it to the dryer. After I fold the laundry, the boys help me put the clothes into their drawers. That’s my least favorite part of the task since it’s so time consuming. We like to offer M&M’s and Tootsie rolls for a job well done.
Another part of the application I found helpful was the Stain Eraser. In a matter of seconds you have answers at your finger tips for every stain you can think of. It’s great!
What part of doing the laundry do you find the most time consuming?
Download the app now (available in the iTunes store) and assemble a team to help you tackle the never-ending laundry pile! Washing made easy, thanks to Whirlpool Washsquad.

I’m waiting like one more year until my oldest can reach into our top loader, and then she’s totally going to be on it!

Gotcha! We have front loaders so it’s a lil easier for them. 🙂

What a neato app. Now I just have to wait until my kiddo is old enough to reach the top loader 🙂

Very cool app! It’s great to teach the kiddos to help out early 🙂 The stain eraser feature looks cool! My daughter started soccer and I am not used to those muddy/grassy stains! I can definitely use that right now!

This app sounds perfect for you Victoria. 🙂

I can’t wait till mine are big enough to help with laundry. The worst part for me is the folding and putting away. The rest I can handle.

This sounds like a very good app to have. The drying and folding of the clothes takes a lot of time. But I like this app because it can really help me out.
