I was invited to the Pixels Press Junket. All opinions are mine alone.
I’m no vidiette, but I definitely enjoyed playing classic arcade games like Pac-Man, Tetris and Duck Hunt growing up. That’s what appealed to me most about seeing the new Pixels movie, and my favorite funny guy, Adam Sandler, of course. I was able to see an early screening of the movie and I got all kinds of flashbacks to my 80’s days. Seriously those were the best, right?! Okay, maybe not the attire, but the music and games rocked!
While waiting for the Pixels press junket to begin, I had the opportunity to get my game on with classics like Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Centipede, and the adorable Q*bert. Unlimited gaming – sweet! Of course my favorite was always the munching man – Pac-Man!
My husband has asked multiple times to get an old school arcade game in the house, but being that we have tons of toys for the boys 😉 there just is no space for an arcade game. He grew up on the classics that you see in Pixels. Being that he is a huge Adam Sandler and Pac-Man fan he can’t wait to see the movie. His favorite arcade memory was going to the skating rink and using his roller skates to kick the coin slots because this would cause the quarters to fall out and he would get to play all the arcade games he wanted. Not cool Nate! Growing up, his best friend had Asteroids in the basement and when he stayed over they would battle for the top score all night long. Boys will be boys I guess!
Don’t forget Pixels is in theaters tomorrow, July 24th! Check out the trailer below:
So tell me…which arcade game would you “put a quarter up”?
