Early reading can lead your children on a path for success. Both of my boys are avid readers. J, who’s almost 9, has been a fluent reader since age 3. Our son, L, learned to read closer to 5. Both boys are incredibly smart for their age, and we credit much of that to their love of reading. Books never get old either….there’s always a new story, a new adventure to learn about! Today, I’m sharing four new reading books for kids that release this month. We were fortunate to receive early editions of the books, and both boys really enjoy them. I know your family will love these too!
Reading is an essential part of growing up. One of parent’s greatest past times is reading a book to their children. Recognizable characters, fun stories, and beautiful photos capture the attention of even the littlest of family members. Today I’m sharing some of the top stories for kids ages 8 and under this season. There are a total of 7 books, plus 2 recommended books for ages 8 and older.
The Best Stories for Kids 8 and under
Thanks to Disney Press for providing today’s books. All opinions are my own.
The boys love to read. As a child I had a bookcase jammed with my favorite books, so I love that my kids are following in my footsteps. We are always excited to see a new delivery from Disney Press because that means new books are inside! This latest delivery included three brand new preschool books – Sofia the First: The Secret Library, Doc McStuffins: Cuddle Me, Lambie, and Frozen: Anna Loves Elsa.

As you know, we are
pretty big fans of Disney – and Disney Channel’s summer hit Descendants is no exception! The boys and I may have watched it enough times to count on two hands. The movie is very entertaining, so if you haven’t seen it yet – I definitely recommend watching it with your kids.
I also had the amazing opportunity to watch the film at the Disney Channel building in LA, and interview Descendants Director Kenny Ortega, so check out that interview for even more information on the film. [Read more…]
As I sit down to write these book reviews, the boys are busy watching Disney’s Frozen in their playroom for the umpteenth time. I’m sure many parents can relate. 🙂 Do you catch yourself humming the tunes too? They are pretty catchy.
One of the boys favorite Disney books right now is Frozen “An Amazing Snowman.” Olaf quickly stole the hearts of many moviegoers as we watched his imaginative spirit come alive on screen. He is also my 3 year old’s favorite Frozen character.
