This Independence Day was spent poolside at my Dad’s. They have a beautifully landscaped pool area that’s just begging to be used, throw in a BBQ master (aka my Dad), a bunch of family and friends, and you’ve got quite the celebration! While grabbing a few things at Wal-Mart for the July 4th dinner I headed to the craft area to pick up some items for a luminarias craft that I found on Disney’s website.
Here’s what you’ll need for the July 4th Luminarias craft:
colored construction paper
stencils & a pen/pencil
Using stencils, trace stars onto different colored construction paper. You can also freehand draw if you prefer. Cut out the stars then use glue sticks to place them on the inside of the paper bags.
Next, layer the bottom of the bags with a good amount of sand (any kind will do), then place the tea lights inside and lite the candles. (Adults required for this portion)
Look how beautifully they turned out! These luminarias are an easy and fun craft for everyone! They can be placed at the entrance of your doorway or in the backyard as we did for a fun festive occasion.
Of course, we couldn’t end our night without some July 4th fireworks with Grandma too! The kids had such a great time.
What July 4th crafts did you make this year?
