Coffee is something that unites us as a community, country, and world. The smell is invigorating and recognizable no matter where you are.
On a recent trip to Wal-Mart I noticed a Starbucks Delicious Pairings display in the bakery section. I thought, what a neat idea. Just like with wine, it describes the flavors that pair well with each coffee.
I couldn’t resist the delicious looking cinnamon rolls with icing, but went looking for Starbucks Holiday Blend on the coffee aisle.
Mmm! I couldn’t wait to get home and brew the Starbucks coffee and enjoy my sweet breakfast. Plus, I was interested in paying close attention to the flavor combinations after see the delicious pairings display.
With my coffee and cinnamon roll in hand, I got to work on my last minute present wrapping. I haven’t wrapped a single gift yet, yikes!!
I tasted Starbucks Holiday Blend on its own and picked up on the orange and cinnamon notes in the coffee. After taking a bite of my cinnamon roll, and then sipping the coffee again the orange and pumpkin flavors became more intense. It was kinda neat! And of course yummy!
I love Starbucks and don’t mind splurging on my favorite Strawberry Frappuccino there, but choose to save a little by brewing my coffee at home. I think a great last minute holiday gift idea is grabbing Starbucks coffee and a yummy treat, like the cinnamon rolls I bought to give as a gift. I’ve decided to surprise my Step-mom with breakfast and coffee tomorrow (she too is a Starbucks lover) to thank her for always being there to watch our little ones for us. We don’t have very much family nearby to depend on, so we are grateful that she’s around to help us out.
