Are you looking for a fun themed party idea? This weekend we invited friends over for the release of The Jungle Book on Blu-ray & DVD! To celebrate, we hosted a jungle themed party! A big thanks to Disney for being our party sponsor.
Read on for tips to throw your own “The Jungle Book” Movie Night!
First, let’s talk set up. We chose to host our movie night outdoors. Who doesn’t love a movie under the stars?
What you’ll need:
A quality portable projector, like this one is key. The P300 Pico mini projector is great! The set-up is very easy, especially with the USB Plug ‘n Play instant set up. We chose to connect the projector to our DVD player using a HDMI cable, but you can connect it to your laptop or phone as well.
Next, you’ll want to make sure everyone can hear the movie. This Ion Tailgater worked perfectly for our outdoor movie night. It’s a #1 best-seller on Amazon and offers an amazing 50-hour rechargeable battery life, bluetooth connectivity, and even includes a microphone. We give it 2 thumbs up.
The projector has a really clear picture, so you can use areas like the garage door, side of your home, or even a DIY white blanket screen for displaying the movie. Another option is purchasing an outdoor movie screen, like one of these.
A big shout out to my hubby, Nate, for rocking this movie set-up in the Florida summer heat!
The Jungle Book Party Food
Who wants grumpy guests? Not me! Don’t forget munchies for the movie, like these fun ideas below.
Both of my friends had the same idea in mind and made adorable lion veggie trays with hummus. Cute and healthy – I love it! Keeping with the jungle theme, broccoli looks like mini trees right? Those are an easy side dish! Grab a bag of cheese puffs for tiger tails, and don’t forget a themed dessert like dirt cups!
A crowd favorite was this Kaa snake burger slithering through a bed of lettuce. To make the snake face, you’ll need two green olives and toothpicks, and I used a tomato for the tongue. Then fill up your rolls with juicy burgers and you’re good to go!
Decor on the party table included lanterns with light-up candles, a star light, beautiful flowers that resembled jungle vines, a green tablecloth, and stuffed monkeys.
Invite your friends, family or neighbors along for a fun jungle-themed party under the stars! We had the best time!! Oh and one more tip – bug spray, foggers, and citronella candles are all a must when hosting an outdoor party during mosquito season!
Don’t forget – the live-action epic adventure The Jungle Book arrives on Blu-ray this week! Grab fun Disney printable activities below, and check out the movie trailer.
