“Mommy can we get a pet?” Every parent hears that question at least once in their lifetime. Our boys have begged for a pet for awhile now, and while Nate and I are not really “pet” people, we did agree on a pet fish recently. The boys were over the moon excited to pick out a fish, and with the help of the pet store staff we selected a low maintenance fish.
While a fish is not necessarily a pet they can “play with” per say, they are learning the responsibilities of owning a pet. From the makers of the ZhuZhu Pets, The Happy’s is an all new crew of motorized pets – perfect for young kids craving a pet to love.
We received Mittens, a pet kitten to review. This adorable white, fluffy kitten plays just like a real pet. It interacts with the touch of a button from the fish Happy Treat. We also received (separately) the Chase & Play Ball. When on The Happy’s Mitten pounces and plays with the play ball, just like a real kitten would.
The kids enjoy playing with Mittens and watching her do tricks for them. My 3-year-old likes using the Interactive Happy Treat to have Mittens chase him around. My 6-year-old likes when she plays with the ball. Both the treat and ball use a laser to direct the pet.
The Happy’s has an entire line of fun-loving interactive motorized pets including puppies and kittens in a variety of colors, appealing for boys and girls ages 4 and up. The Happy’s are available at nationwide retailers – Toys ‘R Us, Walmart, Target, Justice and Radio Shack for just under $20 (at the time of this review).
The Happy’s motorized pets work best on hard-surfaced floors like tile, wood, and laminate. They also make real-life animals sounds. I think The Happy’s make great first pets for young children and are a reasonably priced gift idea. I definitely recommend checking them out!
Are your kids always begging for a family pet?

Those are really cute. But our Min Schnauzer has a thing for stuffed animals. I’m afraid she’d take off with it and claim it for her own! I bet my niece would love it though!

My son would love this! He’s four so he would be at the perfect age for this too.
