When your three year old comes at you with scissors and says, “Daddy I don’t like the beard, can I cut it off?” You know that it is time to shave. I am normally clean shaven, but I wanted to give my new Philips Norelco Shaver 8800 a challenge. I knew this was not a job for a regular hand held razor.
Normally I shave after taking a shower because I get less razor burn, but for an added challenge I decided to use my new hand held shaver completely dry. The razor didn’t pull or tug at my facial hair even though it was long. It cut it nicely and gave me the smooth look that my wife desires. I was very impressed. I thought that it was going to hurt, but to my to surprise pain was not even an issue.
The Philips Norelco wet and dry electric shaver comes with a charging stand and a head cover. Aquatec technology allows you to shave wet with gel or foam for extra skin protection or dry for convenience. One feature that I really appreciated was the digital timer on the front of the razor that lets you know how many minutes it has left. It even offers a quick charge option for a fast shave on the go. The life of the battery is 60 minutes, which is about 20 shaves. The multiple LED indicators let you know when the battery is low and when the shaver is charging or cleaning.
When looking through the instruction manual I learned that it normally takes about 3 weeks for your face to get used to the razor, so if you are hesitant to purchase an electric razor due to past experiences, you might not have tried it long enough. Plus, if you are not satisfied with your purchase Philips will refund your money, which shows their confidence in their product. The sleek masculine design is easy to use and the versatility of the Gyroflex 3D contouring blades gives your face an exceptionally smooth shave. The blades pivot, tilt inward, and flex outward to adjust to the contours of your face and neck. I also liked the precision trimmer to help shorten up your sideburns or mustache. I first used the trimmer to shorten my beard, but then realized it was not needed to do the job.
