Back to school shopping time is about to begin! While checking off that classroom supply list, and updating your child’s wardrobe styles, make sure to head over to the Walmart food aisle too!
Team USA sponsors Coca-Cola®, Kellogg’s®, HERSHEY’S, and ©/® The J.M. Smucker company have teamed up with Scholastic to create the Walmart exclusive “Start School Like a Champion” program. When you purchase some of your favorite products from brands you love, you can earn up to 90 free books! 1 item = 1 book. Pretty awesome, right?
Here’s just a few of the products you can purchase to earn free books; 40oz JIF, Minute Maid Apple Juice (10-pack juice box), specially marked HERSHEY’S Miniatures or REESE’S Peanut Butter Cup Miniatures, Eggo Waffles 29.6oz, and 21oz Cheez-It snacks. These are all products my family loves to eat!
Earning free books is easy! Here’s how you do it:
Start school like a champion: Earn a free Scholastic book by purchasing any of the over 100 participating products at Walmart between 6/29/16 – 9/30/16 (1 item = 1 book).
1. Buy any participating Coca-Cola, HERSHEY’S, Kellogg’s, or The J.M. Smucker company product at Walmart between 6/29/16 and 9/30/16. For a full list of participating products, refer to StartSchoolLikeAChampion.com.
2. Join or log in to Kellogg’s Family Rewards.
3. Upload your receipt within 30 days of purchase.
4. Choose or donate your free book.
I snapped a picture of my full receipt and uploaded it via my computer. It was so simple! Within a few short days my receipt was approved and book credits were deposited into the account. (An email notification lets you know when they’re ready to use.)
Because my husband is the Asst Principal of a Title 1 elementary school, we’re always looking for ways to help the students and teachers. That’s why the boys and I chose to donate our 5 book credits to the school! The school information was already in the database, and all we had to do was choose which books we would like to send them. We chose a variety of reading levels from the Scholastic book choices.
The books are mailed directly to the school, so all you have to do is shop, snap a pic, and select the books. See, I told you it was easy!
Reading and education are so important to us. We couldn’t be more thrilled to provide Nate’s school library with brand new books for the upcoming school year.
So what are you waiting for? Head to Walmart for all your back to school needs, and earn free books to keep or donate to a school of your choice! Go for the gold with the Start School Like A Champion Program!
Do your children love to read?
