My kids are huge fans of fruit. I’m always stocking up on apples, bananas, oranges, etcetera for their snacks and meals. While on a recent trip to Wal-Mart I came across some new fruit cup flavors by Del Monte. The Diced Apples & Pears with Caramel Flavor seemed fitting for the fall season so I grabbed a 4 pack for the boys.
I also picked up Diced Peaches with Cinnamon & Brown Sugar and Diced Pears with Vanilla & Spice for a healthy snack alternative. Plus they are perfectly sized for a lunch bag, making it easy on Mommy during those busy mornings.
I prefer products that do not have high fructose corn syrup and was happy to see that the Del Monte fruit cups do not include that ingredient. And at just 60 calories per serving-these are perfect for the entire family.
After visiting the electronics section to grab an extra memory card for my camera, I headed towards checkout. Until I spotted these delicious looking apple pies….
Okay, so it’s not nearly has healthy as 60 calorie per serving Del Monte fruit cups, however I couldn’t get the idea of apple pie à la mode out of my head so I grabbed some vanilla ice cream and headed for check out. You can see my entire path to purchase on Google+.
The next day when my son asked for a snack, I offered the Del Monte fruit cups to him. He chose the Diced Apples & Pears with Caramel Flavor.
He loved the new flavor, and I did too! By the end of the weekend the entire family had tried all the new flavors I had purchased at Wal-Mart. I wish I could tell you which flavor they preferred, but they seemed to enjoy them all equally. I personally favored the Diced Apples & Pears with Caramel.
