For the last 25 years I have visited the same dentist every six months for my semi-annual cleaning. Luckily most of those years were covered by insurance and therefore the out-of-pocket expense for me was not very costly. Unfortunately not all families can afford dental insurance or visiting the dentist “as recommended” to keep up with their oral care health.
Because I have a great understanding of the importance of preventative care and giving back is important to me, I jumped at the chance to team up with Colgate Total to create an oral care basket for someone in my community. I recently visited my local Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market to load up on Colgate Total products to help other families with their gum disease prevention.
Wal-Mart had a wonderful variety of Colgate products for both adults and kids alike. I couldn’t help myself from splurging on a Transformers toothbrush for one lucky child. I know how much my boys love those movies and action figures. I found great deals on adult toothbrushes too, $1 for 2! Be sure to follow my entire path to purchase on google+ to see all the great Colgate deals I found.
Once home I created a nice gift bag full of all the goodies!
My husband teaches at a school nearby that offers a donation pantry for disadvantaged families that need assistance. I knew this would be the perfect place to donate my #ColgateTotal4Health oral care basket!
Did you know that people with diabetes are two times more likely to develop serious gum disease? Because diabetes makes the body more susceptible to bacterial infection, people with diabetes have a decreased ability to fight germs that invade the gums. Colgate Total reduces 90% of plaque germs that cause gingivitis, the most common form of gum disease.
I’m glad I had the opportunity to donate Colgate Total and other Colgate products to our local community and help several families with their oral health care needs.
