This weekend we made our way to Winter Haven, Florida for the #BrickPony reveal. The life-size LEGO replica of the so-called “1964½” Mustang V8 coupe was designed and built — brick by brick — by a veteran team of Master Builders at LEGO Systems, Inc. Dubbed #BrickPony, the giant Mustang model will be permanently displayed outside the Ford Driving School attraction at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, replacing the LEGO Ford Explorer.

Saving Our Reefs: Rising Tide Conservation
Over the weekend my family and I had the amazing opportunity to visit Discovery Cove and SeaWorld to learn about Rising Tide Conservation. This program focuses on the protection of our coral reefs through sustainable aquaculture. At this time up to 90 percent of saltwater aquarium fish are wild caught, so only 10 percent would be considered sustainable aquaculture.
Rising Tide Conservation is teaming up with over 48 facilities, which include public aquaria, research universities, marine fish producers, and aquarium wholesalers and retailers to get the word out about increasing the amount of captive-breed marine aquarium fish. This initiative is trying to discover methods to captive-breed saltwater aquarium fish to help reduce the need to take these amazing aquatic species away from the reefs. Through this initiative Rising Tide Conservation has successfully reared over 16 species of marine aquarium fish including: yellow tang, jackknife fish, porkfish, lancer dragonet, silver moony, and semicircle angelfish. By purchasing captive-breed aquatic fish rather than fish that are taken from the coral reef, we as consumers can help limit the negative impact on our coral reefs. [Read more…]

Meeting Disney characters is the highlight of any child’s theme park experience. Disney World offers an abundance of character meet and greets, but sometimes those lines can get pretty lengthy. So why not make it a magical breakfast, lunch or dinner with some of the coolest characters around!
Disney Character Meals
These popular dining experiences allow families to enjoy unforgettable moments with their favorite Disney pals. You’ll most certainly need to make advance reservations either online via your Disney account or by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463). All Disney character meals provide tableside visits from the characters. There’s no need to wait in line – they come to you! During your (roughly) 1 hour meal each character will visit you and your family more than once. This gives you plenty of time to snap a quality picture of your kids with their favorite Disney characters. [Read more…]

The force is strong at Walt Disney World with exciting new additions to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is the park to visit for all things Star Wars! The youngest guests can emerge themselves into the galaxy with this interactive experience – Star Wars Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple.
Not only is there a new set in front of Star Tours attraction, but new villains too! Young Jedi’s learn how to use the force – with wielding lightsabers – to fight the Dark Side. The new recruits are then challenged by Darth Vader himself, and the newest member – the Seventh Sister (Star Wars Rebels).
Check out this video below from part of the new Star Wars Jedi Training show!

Recently our family was invited to Disney’s Social Media Moms Conference, which was an amazing experience and a great way to test out my new ACTIVEON DX action camera. When this baby got to our house I was so excited to try it out. Having the ACTIVEON action camera really opens up all kinds of opportunities for our family to record special memories that we have been unable to record in the past. For example, when we were invited to Discovery Cove, this would have been an amazing asset as I snorkeled through the coral reefs because the protective waterproof case of the ACTIVEON is capable of withstanding depths of up to 196 feet (60 meters).
As we explored the magical world of Mickey Mouse we were able to use the camera on Epcot’s Test Track and Soarin’. When we headed over to Magic Kingdom I was really excited to test it out on Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and of course the newest edition to the park The Seven Dwarves Mine Train attraction. I was really impressed with the life of the Li-ion battery, which has a longer battery life compared to other action cameras on the market. It is capable of providing up to 120 minutes of recording time at 1080p 30fps which is enough for most outdoor activities. [Read more…]
Recently my family and I attended a special conference at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. It was our first time visiting and staying at the property, however we are no strangers to the Disney World parks. Being Floridians, we are graced with opportunities to enjoy the numerous theme parks in our area. This Disney experience has been our greatest thus far!
During the #DisneySMMC conference my family enjoyed the Yacht Club Resort ammenities and spent time at the 4 Disney World theme parks. At night we encountered special events, including an amazing Epcot fireworks experience. I will definitely be delving into all of those details in a later post, so stay tuned! Since summer is right around the corner, I know many families will be taking vacations and possibly visiting the Walt Disney World theme parks. We all know Florida can be HOT, so I’m sharing my tips on how to keep cool during the summer months.
Can you tell I enjoy attending Disney press events? 🙂 If you’ve followed my coverage over the last few weeks, then you’ve seen some really awesome experiences we encountered during the Monkey Kingdom event. Some of my favorite adventures included Epcot Flower and Garden Festival and Safari Wild Africa Trek. Those are two events I believe every Disney fan must try!
Today, I’m sharing another fun experience at Epcot. Did you know Disney has the 2nd largest salt water aquarium in the world? It’s located in Epcot at the Living Seas! Below are few interesting sea life friends you can expect to see during a visit to this amazing aquarium.
Doesn’t that upside jellyfish look pretty cool? Other exciting encounters include live dolphin training – it’s held 7 days a week, 3 times a day! This is definitely an experience I recommend checking out. I recorded a portion of the dolphin training in action: [Read more…]
Experience the art of African cuisine with Indian flare at Animal Kingdom Lodge – Sanaa Restaurant. This award-winning restaurant provides a family friendly feast like no other. The restaurant decor is authentic to the cuisine and provides a unique dining experience.
Begin your meal with a delicious Indian-style bread service including 3 pita bread flavors and a multitude of dipping sauces ranging from sweet to spicy. While dining at Sanaa, take a peek out of the large restaurant windows where you can spot wildlife like zebras, gazelles, giraffe, and many more animals.
For our next course, we sampled a variety of salads including Chickpeas with Cucumber and Tomato; Watermelon, Cucumber and Fennel; Kachumbari; Mango; or Bhel Puri. Everything was refreshing and flavorful, however my favorite was the chickpeas salad. [Read more…]
All week long I’ve shared some of my favorite adventures while attending the Monkey Kingdom press trip! Since the Disneynature film is focused on animals – with a special story about the Macaque monkeys in the South Asia jungle, we had the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Animal Kingdom’s wildlife during a behind-the-scenes tour.
The Backstage Tales Tour is available for all guests ages 12 and up – admission to the park is required. I especially found this 3 hour tour to be informative about Disney’s wildlife conservation, and believe it is a fantastic way for park guests to inspire their love for animals. [Read more…]
While covering the press event for Monkey Kingdom last week, we had some opportunity to unwind and enjoy a full day at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Every spring the park puts on a beautiful display of character topiaries, dazzling gardens, and fresh season dishes. The Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is an event for all ages!

If you’ve ever seen the Disney Pixar movie “Up” then you may just remember an adorable little boy named Russell in the film. As a Wilderness Explorer, Russell, was determined to collect all of his badges and become a senior explorer.
With that theory in mind, Animal Kingdom created an interactive program called the Wilderness Explorers program that is included with admission to the park.
While exploring the park, you and your family set out on an adventure to collect badges at the challenge stations. Each fact-finding challenge is totally different and offers a variety of missions ranging from animal observations to learning nature skills. First, you’ll want to pick up this handy field guide at the beginning of the park so you know where the badges are located. As you can see below, they are spread throughout the entire park. While you may not collect all 30+ badges on your first visit, it’s something to look forward to next time you visit. [Read more…]

In celebration of the Disneynature Monkey Kingdom movie releasing in theaters this weekend, a great group of bloggers visited Disney parks for a wild adventure. As a native Floridian, I visit the Disney parks often, but never have I experienced so much fun! I learned about some really awesome VIP experiences that any guest can partake in – one of those is the Wild Africa Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Do you love the sun, sand and ocean? You have to check out Discovery Cove – A Tropical Paradise Day Resort in Orlando, Florida. Come read all about our trip!
Imagine…in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Orlando, Florida, a tropical paradise that’s serene and surprisingly quiet. That’s exactly what you can expect when visiting Discovery Cove. This gem of a resort is a must-visit spot where guests can have one-of-a-kind animal encounters and enjoy a relaxing day in the water.
It is highly recommended that you make a Reservation to visit Discovery Cove, especially during their busier months (March – October). Wondering when is the best time of year to visit Walt Disney World theme parks in Orlando, Florida? I came across this helpful calendar of the Best Times to Visit Walt Disney World in 2015 and wanted to share it with all of you.
If you want to avoid hurricane season here in Florida, I recommend planning your visit to Walt Disney World between April 13th and May 22nd. The crowds are the lightest during that time of year and more enjoyable for you and your family. Summertime is always the heaviest travel season, especially for Disney! If you want to spend the holidays at Disney, plan a visit during mid November or early December. [Read more…]

My husband and I had a rockin’ time at Universal Orlando’s Rock the Universe. This event is fun for all ages. We saw families, small groups, and lots of large youth groups all excited to be at the event. The weather tried to ruin our night from the start with a heavy rain and thunderstorm, but it passed, and many were having fun even in the rain!

Last weekend my family had the amazing privilege to tour Universal Orlando Resort’s newest attraction Diagon Alley. The Magical World of Harry Potter comes to life before your eyes as you walk through the streets and see such familiar places as Weasley’s Store, Gringotts Bank, Knockturn Alley (complete with Borgin & Burke’s), The Leaky Cauldron, and Ollivander’s Wand Shop. Universal’s newest attraction Harry Potter Diagon Alley is a smash hit! If you are a Harry Potter enthusiast then Universal Studios and Island’s of Adventure are not to be missed.
Exploring Diagon Alley
As you first get to the back of Universal Studios you see the London backdrop and Harry Potter’s house, which was given to him by his godfather Sirius Black, and then if you stay a bit longer you will see the house elf, Kreature, stick his head out of the window to spy on all of the picture takers.
We were invited as media to attend. No additional compensation was received.
Summer at SeaWorld is going on now through August 10th! Two new shows are featured at the park:
The nighttime show, Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up The Night, is a high-energy show featuring new, original music and production elements, as well as new killer whale behaviors. Shamu Stadium is transformed with stylistic lighting and colorful backdrops to create a social and celebratory atmosphere, guided by a host each night, and ending with a fireworks finale.
We were invited as media to attend this event. No additional compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
It’s no secret, we love Universal Orlando Resort and their Mardi Gras Celebration is no exception. This “N’awlins”-inspired, family-friendly version of Mardi Gras runs select nights through June 7. Guests can enjoy authentic Cajun cuisine and see performances by bands pulled straight from Bourbon Street. Plus catch traditional beads from the same maker used for New Orleans Mardi Gras event, while enjoying 12 beautifully decorated parade floats.

Last month we shared our amazing press trip to the Universal Orlando Resort, but there was even more fun I’ve yet to share with you all. One of our evening’s was spent at Universal CityWalk’s Hard Rock Cafe & Blue Man Group. While I did mention recently that CityWalk is undergoing a major expansion, these trusted favorites have been a go-to for locals and tourists alike.
