Have you ever visited a local farm to pick your own produce? Our family made a trip to a local strawberry farm last weekend to do just that. The boys faces said it all – they couldn’t be more excited! Needless to say, we came home with a huge bundle of strawberries. So, I decided to whip up these fun mini trifles with homemade donut cakes that I found on kevinandamanda.com.

As you know, we are big Marvel fans, so when Disney and Marvel collaborated to create the amazing Big Hero 6 movie, we were pretty ecstatic. And after my recent visit to LA to interview the film directors and voices behind Tadashi, Hiro, and Baymax – I couldn’t wait to bring home the movie for my boys. I decided to plan a fun after school adventure last Friday, complete with Baymax Rice Krispies Treats.
Once lil guy and I picked J up from school we headed to our local Walmart store to buy their exclusive Big Hero 6 gift set with bonus DVD. The entertainment department has the “new releases” stand easy accessible from the aisle. As you can see L was pretty excited to have the movie in his hands. We also picked up the ingredients needed to make our fun Baymax treats.

As a World Market Ambassador, I get a heads up on what new trends are coming to stores. The Americana beach theme mirrored the decor I was selecting for the new home that we are building. Before I share all of the fun decor I picked up at World Market, I wanted to share this Strawberry Lemon Mini Bundt Cake recipe. Because what good is a party without food, right? 🙂 I was waiting in anticipation to shop the deals at World Market and create a fun Americana Beach Party for our family.
Buying a home can be a mix of emotions. Often things do not work out as planned and cause setbacks. Although that is the case in our situation, I still wanted to make the most of our family’s next chapter. With the help of my step-mom we planned a pre-celebratory party at her home.
These Mini Stars & Stripes Bundt Cakes are a great addition to an Americana Beach Party.

One of my husbands favorite summer fruits is blackberries. Using just a few simple ingredients I created this summer treat – Mini Blackberry Trifles.
This blackberry trifle recipe is the perfect ending to a warm summer day in the sun. Creating individual dishes suits well for afternoon cookouts, summer weddings, and baby shower desserts. Not a fan of blackberries? Simply switch out the fruit for something you prefer, like strawberries, raspberries, or a combination of your choosing.
I have been invited as media to attend these events. Expenses have been paid in exchange for my coverage. All opinions are my own.

Hallelujah winter is behind us! Now that the weather has turned warmer, people are looking forward to sandal season, which typically includes less layers and bathing suits. So we’ve found a way to enjoy those classic warmer weather favorites, without forfeiting flavor.

One of our favorite movies of 2013 was Disney’s FROZEN. Recently I learned of a fun fact: FROZEN had the third highest grossing 5th weekend in box office history! There’s not many movies that keep that kind of sustainability at the box office, so that’s quite an accomplishment. Because the family enjoyed the movie so much, I decided to host a Disney’s FROZEN play date party!

I’m a traditional gal. I love to go home for the holidays and get that down home cooking that I grew up tasting. One of my favorite dishes that is always at the dessert table is my Granny Anne’s Lemon Cake. I honestly can’t remember a holiday meal without it! Isn’t dessert the best part of the meal anyway? 😉
Today I took my first crack at making her Lemon Cake recipe and I sure hope I made her proud.
Tonight we had a family game night inspired by the Avengers movie. My kids are HUGE superhero fans so they were very excited for the occasion. As an extra treat I decided to bake an Avengers themed cake. I picked up the items I needed at the store and headed home to bake!
