All too often we can get caught up in our daily lives and forget to stop and appreciate the little things. When’s the last time you stopped to enjoy the warm sun on your face, or admire the beautiful colors of the green grass and fallen leaves outside? Today I challenge you to stop and take a moment – take it all in. What did you notice? Do you have a newfound appreciation for something?
Another topic we take for granted here in the U.S. is education. Every child gets the FREE opportunity to learn, but that’s not the case in many poverty-stricken countries. Many times young girls are forced to stop learning at ages of 11 or 12, and begin taking over the household chores and responsibilities. CARE.org is a global humanitarian organization that fights poverty by empowering girls and women, and they hope to encourage you to send a letter of hope today.

In their own words
Meanwhile, my 8 year old has advanced to 4th grade and attends gifted program too. He’s a hard worker, but education comes much easier for him. We spent some time reading the stories from other children on CARE.org’s site, then I asked J to answer the same 4 questions the other children did.
I like school because….I have good friends and I love to learn.
To be successful I will…do my best in school.
My biggest challenges…I am thankful not to have any.
Education inspires me to…graduate, go to college, and become a football player.
How will your children answer these 4 questions? Consider taking a moment to check out CARE.org and send a letter of encouragement and hope. It takes just seconds to write one on their site. That letter just may make the difference for another child in need. So what are you waiting for? 🙂

I’ll have to get my grandson to answer these questions! I love being able to make a difference in a child’s life.
