Did the summer months fly by for you as well? It certainly feels that way for us. Although I’m lucky to have the opportunity to not only work from home, but homeschool my children, we still need back to school essentials like paper, pencils, craft supplies, etc. We also have two growing boys, which means new clothes and shoes too! So we headed back to school shopping over the weekend. Make sure to read on for helpful tips to help children in need!
Back to School with Crocs
Some of our favorite shoes to wear are Crocs. They have cool styles for kids and moms and dads too! The boys picked up a new pair of character Crocs featuring Batman and Captain America. They seemed perfectly fitting for my two mini superheroes! Some of our favorite features in the kids Crocs line include the Croslite™ foam construction which gives kids plenty of cushion and comfort, and the heel strap gives them a more secure fit, too. They are lightweight and easy to clean, which makes them great for all the wear and tear the school year brings.
Our 5 year old was the most excited for a new pair of Crocs. He yells “my feet are on fire” anytime he has to wear socks. LOL! I mean Florida is hot, but I don’t think that’s the issue. He just has a fascination with Crocs and their breathable material.
Who says kids should have all the fun with back to school shopping? 😉 Nate and I each picked out a new pair of comfy Crocs too. These Capri Flips are fun and perfect for practically everything in my wardrobe. While hubby picked out some mesh loafers in navy blue for weekend wear.
The whole family is loving their new back to school shoes! By the way, you can save 20% off when you join the Crocs club. Find out more at crocs.com. And be sure to follow our feet all week as we sport our new Crocs on Twitter and Instagram!
While back to school shopping can be a lot of fun for many, it can also be a difficult time for others. Did you know 1 in 5 U.S. kids don’t get the food they need – let alone afford to buy school supplies. Read on to see how you can help those children in need.
Tips to Help Children in Need
No Kid Hungry is on a mission to help children in need. They believe every child should have adequate food to survive. A few ways they help are by:
- The Cooking Matters program which helps families shop and cook healthy meals on a budget.
- No Kid Hungry state and city based campaigns that connect local families to resources.
Want to know how you can help? Consider donating to No Kid Hungry. Check out a participating restaurant in your area that gives back with the Dine Out for No Kid Hungry program. Another option is starting a Bake Sale to end child hunger. Find out all the details here.
Other ways you can give back are by donating a backpack full of school supplies to your local school, visiting your local shelter to provide food or school supplies, or donating to a food pantry in your area.
