This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and All You, but all my opinions are my own. #lifeforless #pmedia Pollinate
One of my favorite down times is reading magazines, particularly All You Magazine because it offers great shopping tips, coupons, health tips and recipes. The magazine not only pays for itself in valuable coupons, but also with beneficial women’s health information.
Recently when visiting Winn-Dixie supermarket I noticed All You on their magazine rack. My little guy loves to come along on shopping trips because they have tike sized shopping carts, just for him! I used to visit Wal-Mart to grab the latest All You issue, but it’s now available at many nationwide supermarkets, including Winn-Dixie. Visit here to locate a store near you.
One of my New Year’s resolutions that has been a bit challenging to keep up is working out. My goal is to work out a few times a week, every week. However, we all know how other things can take precedence in our lives and soon we are off track.
I really liked the motivational article on yoga because it is one of the few workout regimens that I enjoy doing. I am not a big cardio person, nor do I “like” working out. However yoga is a simpler option. I was surprised to read that “a whopping 44 percent of Americans say they want to do yoga, but haven’t.” I am by no means a yoga master, however I do know it helps decrease my anxiety levels when stressed.
Below I have demonstrated a few of my favorite yoga poses, which you can also find in the July All you issue.
Tadasana is a great pose to begin and end with. It allows you to get “zoned in” and focus on the breathing part of the exercise.
Plank looks easy, but can take a few tries to get down right. The goal is to breath deeply while holding your pose as long as you can.
Downward Dog is one of my favorite poses. You can really feel your calve muscles and arms get a good stretch. Hold this pose for three deep breaths.
Warrior 2 is another pose that looks easy, but takes a bit to master. You really want to get a deep stretch in your back leg while keeping the opposite leg at a 90 degree angle. Also hold this pose for three deep breaths.
Another favorite of mine in the July issue is the 5 easy meals for families. As a family that is always on-the-go I look for easy meals that are healthy. The chicken skewers is definitely a recipe I’ll be working into our meal plan this week. I also found a great dessert grilling recipe, and yes I said dessert! I’m looking forward to creating several of this month’s healthy recipes.
