My good friend Joleen decided to write a book about her journey through the NICU with her former 1lb 3 oz micro preemie daughter, Laken. Being a mom myself and now knowing someone who actually published a book, I just had to get my hands on 98 Days and I am so lucky that I did. What an amazing story! Having two children of my own, I found myself crying, laughing, gasping for air and then relieved while I read this book. I was trying to imagine what those moments would have been like. Delivering your baby at only 6 months and then having to leave her in the care of others while you were sent home. I found myself in awe.
I do know this family well. Laken is now 6 years old, beautiful and very smart, but to read the challenges she faced, obstacles they had to overcome, I now look at that amazing little girl in a whole new way. Not to mention her mother, Joleen. What strength these two have.
I know that many of you have experienced some of those challenges too. The thought of your child having to spend some time in the NICU can be so scary. All of the unknowns, what if’s and how comes. That’s why Joleen wrote 98 Days. She wanted to share her stories so that those of you who are going through this difficult time or had already experienced it, know that you are not alone.
I’m excited to let you know that Joleen has offered to have 98 Days as a giveaway to one of our readers. If you are interested in purchasing 98 Days, you can find it here.
Disclosure: All opinions are my own and may differ from yours. I received the above mentioned item for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received. Thank You to Joleen Padgett for the review & giveaway item.

I would like to win because I am the mother of preemie twins who wil be 24 years old in Nov! My one daughter has cerebral palsy and she uses a powered wheelchair . I know the NICU’s are much more advanced than in 1988 when my girls were born. The girls prematurity has affected all our lives even years later.
