Do you all love couscous? Traditional in North Africa, couscous is coarsely ground pasta made from semolina. It actually doesn’t have much flavor, but if you add some yummy extras, like tomatoes and bacon it will elevate the dish to another level. The whole wheat version, which I used in the recipe below packs 5-6 grams of fiber per serving too! So….let’s get onto that recipe!

Today’s recipe post is sponsored by Viking.
A few years ago my husband and I were vacationing in Vegas, while there we had the opportunity to dine at Piero’s Italian Restaurant. The restaurant has seen the likes of celebrities from Michael Jordan to Justin Timberlake, and offers a 5 star dining experience. Our meal was perfection to say the least, including an unforgettable creamed corn recipe that Piero’s is known for.
During Thanksgiving at my dad’s this year, my step-moms corn casserole brought me right back to that moment at Piero’s. It was that good! When she shared how simple it was to make, I just had to recreate it for all of you. Viking sent me this beautiful stainless steel casserole pan and I couldn’t pass up making the corn casserole in this stunning pan!

The holidays are approaching with those elaborate family meals, which I personally can not wait for. But leading up to the big day, we tend to look for easy meal solutions to tide us over. A really great option that can save anyone time and energy in the kitchen is Michael Angelo’s frozen meals. Doesn’t it look delicious?
A big thanks to today’s sponsor Victoria Fine Foods. All opinions are my own.
Italian cuisine is a family staple in our home. Growing up, my mom made homemade pasta sauce – enough to freeze for additional recipes. My brother and I loved whenever it was pasta night – we knew it was going to be a good meal. Every Christmas holiday consists of an authentic Italian meal, like lasagna or baked ziti too. Giving us even more to be merrier about!
Although my mom did not pass along her homemade recipe to me, I’ve found an authentic alternative that tastes just as delicious! Victoria Fine Foods began in 1929 in Brooklyn, NY by an Italian family that immigrated to the U.S. When I learned the history of the company founders, I couldn’t help but wonder if they ever met any of my Sicilian relatives that grew up there.
For over 85 years, Victoria’s philosophy remains the same: ingredients come first. That’s why they are the only major brand to put their ingredients on the front of the label. Made of all natural ingredients, like 100% Italian tomatoes, 100% imported olive oil, and handpicked herbs, Victoria pasta sauce is as authentic as it comes. You’ll never find preservatives, tomato paste, water or sugar in their pasta sauces. They’re also gluten-free and non-GMO verified. [Read more…]
Feel like barbecue for dinner, but don’t have the time to make it? Busy weekday schedules can make it difficult to pull off a delicious meal for the family….until now!
Between afterschool clubs, soccer practice and games, and other family errands, our work week is always busy. That’s why I’m continually looking for simple dinner ideas.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Manwich. All opinions are 100% mine.
Growing up in the 80’s there was rarely a week where I did not have sloppy joes from the school cafeteria or at home. Sloppy Joes is definitely a favorite meal of mine.
Whenever I think of sloppy joes I think of the cafeteria lady in Billy Madison, and yes I like mine extra sloppy. 🙂
Now that I am a dad of two adorable boys I definitely have them eating Hunt’s Manwich. In fact we have started a little tradition here at the Hay House, and that is Manwich Monday. You’ve probably heard of Taco Tuesday, but let me tell you after a full day at the office, I tend to drag when I get home, and this meal is so quick and easy to make that Manwich Monday is becoming the norm. Did you know? Most Americans only meet the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for proper nutrition roughly 7 days out of the year. Yes, only 7 days out of 365! How is that possible? Top reasons for slacking on healthy meals include expenses, time-consuming, and just plain complicated.
California Pizza Kitchen is part of an initiative to make a difference. They want to help families eat better by uncomplicating things. Read on to see how they’re helping you Balance Your Plate.
There’s something about cheese that’s just tasty, am I right? Pair that with a juicy tomato and you have quite the delectable treat! This quick appetizer recipe is a great way to get any family member to eat their veggies, and makes a perfect party appetizer too.

Nate and I enjoy going out to eat occasionally. It’s always nice to say “the kitchen’s closed for tonight”. Sometimes things go well with the boys, and other times they want no part of sitting down (and waiting) in a restaurant. I’m sure many of you can remember a time or two when your child had a restaurant meltdown. Yea, those are always fun. 😉
The good thing about going to a restaurant like Buffalo Wings and Rings, a family friendly sports bar, is that there are several distractions. There’s typically multiple televisions with sports on, or arcade games. And when all else fails, I usually have something up my sleeve, like a coloring book or Go Fish card game to play at the table. My boys are at the perfect age to help out in the kitchen. A family staple dish we enjoy creating is spaghetti and meatballs. It’s one of those dishes that typically gets gobbled up in one sitting, and is quite easy to make on limited time.
Technology is turned off (with the exception of Pandora) then the boys and I jam out while creating a meal together. It’s moments like these that I really cherish. Plus, a great opportunity to teach them important skills they’ll need later in life.

Making the switch to a healthier lifestyle doesn’t mean that you have to restock your entire fridge all at once. Taking small steps towards an improved lifestyle can begin by swapping out your regular brands for healthier options.
Our family has been on the track for a more natural and organic based diet for the last year. As I’ve become more informed about what’s in America’s food, I’ve slowly begun transitioning certain food groups to a healthier version. As I mentioned previously, the change doesn’t have to be drastic. I started by switching our family to organic dairy products last year, and this year I focused on switching the highest pesticide foods to organic, like apples, strawberries, and blueberries, which we eat a ton of around here. Life is busy! I’m always looking for ways to cut corners during meal prep without sacrificing quality. After an eye opening conference last year about America’s food, our family has transitioned towards natural and organic products ever since. Today I’m sharing one of our family’s favorite meals using Horizon products: Baked Mac N Cheese.
Do you like a little crunch with your Mac N Cheese? When shopping for the recipe ingredients, I noticed Horizon’s new Snack Crackers that are made with organic wheat & cheese. I knew these would work perfectly as cracker crumbs over our dish. I also picked up some natural Kielbasa to add to our Baked Mac N Cheese. I usually tell the boys it’s hotdogs and never hear a complaint about it. 😉 If you struggle with getting your kids to eat enough vegetables, this is a great dish for hiding some under all this yumminess!
I’ve partnered with Lunchbox and Kraft to share today’s recipe. All opinions are my own.
New year, new you! Are you looking for nutritious lunch and dinner alternatives that won’t break the bank? Today I’m sharing one of Kraft Foods top-pinned recipes that helps you stay health-focused, and maintain your New Years resolutions. Combining ingredients like lean ground beef, low-fat ranch dressing, and tomatoes keep this taco salad recipe wholesome and delicious.

I love carbs, don’t you? If I could find a way to include delicious fresh bread in every meal I would. But since that’s not healthy I’ll stick with one delicious carb filled dinner a week like this Stuffed Chicken Crescent Rolls Cobbler. Seriously people – this is one for the cookbooks – it’s delicious!
Here’s what you’ll need to make this Stuffed Chicken Crescent Rolls Cobbler Recipe:
“There are not enough hours in the day” is an often used expression in our household. As a very busy family of four, it’s hard to find time to cook a meal from scratch. That’s why I look for shortcuts and simple dinner solutions to help my family eat a meal together.
On a recent trip to Walmart I spotted the all-new Jimmy Dean® and Delights® frozen lunch or dinner entrées. That’s right, Jimmy Dean is expanding beyond breakfast, and their tasty breakfast favorites now have new companions!

Now that we’ve settled into our new home, our favorite place to hang out as a family is on our large back porch. The boys play in the backyard, while Nate and I fire up the grill and sit back and enjoy the good life. There’s a variety of great meals that can be cooked on the grill, including pizza!
Sometimes it’s tough to have date nights as parents when you have little ones. When we can’t find the time to go out, Nate and I enjoy cooking a meal together. We tried a new dish last night; Chicken Alfredo Bake, and it was simply too delicious not to share!

After a quick search online for chicken breast recipes, we came across a similar dish that we crafted into our own. With cocktails in hand we began our own version of Chicken Alfredo Bake. I’m telling you, this dish is seriously amazing and fairly easy too!
