New year, new you, right?! Sometimes it’s really hard to kick an old habit and start a new one, like healthier eating. So today I’m sharing a convenient way to get wholesome foods into your diet. Try this Frozen Strawberry Banana Yogurt Bites recipe sponsored by General Mills®!
Join me in stepping away from the ice cream and try this nutritious dessert or late night snack instead. It’s made up of 3 ingredients and super easy to make – I promise! Not only will you enjoy this heavenly alternative, but your kids will too! Here’s what you’ll need to get started.
Frozen Strawberry Banana Yogurt Bites
- (2) 6 oz Yoplait® French Vanilla Yogurt
- 1 large banana
- A handful of sliced strawberries
In a medium bowl mash the large banana. Kids will get a kick out of helping with this easy recipe – have them try a potato masher to get the job done. Next, stir in 12 oz of french vanilla yogurt. Grab a baking sheet that will easily fit in your freezer and place a sheet of parchment paper on top. Using silicone molds, or even cookie cutters (like we did) spoon in the yogurt mixture into each mold. Top each one with half a strawberry and place the baking sheet in the freezer for 2 hours. (The thicker the yogurt bite, the more time it needs in the freezer)
Once frozen through, pop each yogurt bite out and serve – or place in a plastic bag or container for nibbling later. They’ll need to stay in the freezer until ready. Easy peasy!
Not only do these frozen yogurt bites make a healthier alternative for dessert, but they make a great breakfast option too. Sometimes I’ll make a small bowl of granola, place a frozen yogurt bite on top and do a quick house chore while it melts down just a little bit. It gives my breakfast (or snack) a nice, cool crunch.
So if you’re ready to choose a healthier lifestyle, try this easy option right along with me. In addition to healthier food choices, I’m focusing on running. It’s something I thoroughly enjoyed as a kid and decided it was time to bring it back into my life. I do one of the two options, running in my neighborhood with my young son, who also enjoys the sport, or running on the treadmill. Both workouts take roughly 30 minutes of my time each day, and are completely doable.
