Living in Florida has many advantages, one being able to wear shorts in the winter time. But one of my favorite reasons for living in Florida is being able to golf year round. I recently reviewed the very first digital golf glove, and this glove is like nothing I have ever used before. Being a tech savvy family, when I saw the SensoGlove I knew I had to try it out.
The SensoGlove allows golfers to see whether or not they are gripping the golf club too tightly. The glove has embedded sensors, which gives you both audio and visual feedback. If you grip the golf club too tightly it will beep. When you look at the display monitor on the top part of the glove it will show a diagram of a hand with specific fingers flashing. The finger or fingers that are flashing are the fingers that you have gripped the club too tightly with, so when you swing again you need to loosen your grip with those specific fingers. If you do not hear any beeps then you have gripped the club correctly.
You might ask: What does it matter if I grip the club too hard? Well, the fact is your grip has a lot to do with your final score. If you grip the golf club to hard you will lose distance because you are too tense. When your body is tense you restrict free movement which decreases your distance. Famous golfer Sam Snead once said that you should grip the club like you are holding a baby bird. He believed that the lighter the grip the better.
It is very important to have consistent grip pressure when golfing and that is what the SensoGlove helps you with. It is very important to stay relaxed, so you have freedom of movement, which allows you to drive further and maintain consistency when golfing. The SensoGlove allows you to correct on the go, and I definitely saw a difference in not only the distance I hit the ball, but also the consistency of where the balls landed.
I really liked how I was able to practice a couple swings and see right away where I needed to improve. I was gripping the club too tightly, and the SensoGlove helped me to change that bad habit. If you would like to get your hand on a SensoGlove, you can find it at sensoglove.com and amazon.com for approximately $89. The SensoGlove is the perfect sports gift to help golfers improve their game.
