New Year’s Resolutions

It’s that time again…..New Year’s Eve is upon us, and like most people I’m sitting here thinking of what goals to set for the New Year. If I share the goals with my readers, maybe you guys will hold me to them and share some of your own! :)

Goal #1 – work out at least twice a week. I’m a junk food lover and enjoy my sweets, but I know I can’t do this forever without consequences. I’d like to stay ahead of the game and make a goal to do yoga, running, or cardio twice a week to keep myself healthy. I have never set a work out goal in the past because frankly I don’t like to do it. Here’s to trying new things!

Goal #2 – continue to reduce our footprint. I’m big on being green and teaching my kids how to be as well. We already do several things routinely that help the environment by recycling, being energy conscious, donating items, etc.

Goal #3 – save more money. Things always come up in the year where extra expenses are needed and I’d rather be able to afford it without stressing. We currently put back a little every chance we get and are quite frugal to begin with, however being a one income household it’s a bit hard to save anything substantial. I want to change that by setting up a “financial plan” and sticking with it.

Goal #4 – this may sound silly since goal #3 is to save money, but I want a new home. (The money saved could go towards it) As first time home buyers we had a plan to stay in our first home for 3-5 years and then move onto something a bit bigger for our growing family. It’s been 8 years and due to the housing crash, we’ve been “stuck”. We’ve looked at homes in our area that are new and full of upgrades plus they are going for the same price as our 20+ year old home. It’s definitely something we need to do before the market goes back up again and those beautiful homes are unattainable. This is a BIG want of mine so here’s to hoping!

Goal #5 – continue working and growing my blog. I love what I do and appreciate the support of my friends, family, and readers who stop by and visit weekly, or even daily. I want to do more personal posts as well so everyone can learn more about our family and become apart of it. As my numbers increase I get more and more great opportunities for our family and you guys. I’d love any feedback on what you as readers would like to see more of.

Okay, I think that’s a good amount of goals for one year, right? :) I’m interested in hearing yours too! And if some of your goals match mine. Leave a comment below to let me know what New Year’s resolutions you plan to keep in 2013, or just say a quick hello. :)

Great goals!! One of mine is to walk a couple of times a week and keep moving. Happy New Year!!

  6. My goal this year applies to my business, and I’ll be outsourcing daily tasks to be able to focus on my larger, ultimate goal. Pretty much making my to do list shorter to get more done. Good list, and good luck!;)

  7. My husband and I were talking about how funny it is that, 16 years later, we’re still in our “starter home”. It’s small, but full of love I say. I have a similar desire to grow my blog in 2013. (After blogging for 4 years I feel I’m pretty much “warmed up” ;-> )

Happy to have connected with you through VoiceBoks!
