I am not a big drinker, although my two wine racks would prove otherwise. I love to have a variety of bottles on hand for when family comes to visit or if guests come over for dinner. I also enjoy drinking a glass or two of wine to compliment a nice meal. My wine of choice is a sweet white wine like a Pinot or Riesling.
That being said, I’m certainly not a wine connoisseur, although I’d love to be! We typically purchase our wine in a local store, which I’ve recently learned can actually be a “bulk wine” and not necessarily authentic from a winery. I was intrigued by The California Wine Club and excited to be on board to sample a few of their fine wines.
The California Wine Club is a family owned business created in 1990 that visits real-working wineries and hand-picks every bottle of wine in their club. I received a bottle of white and bottle of red from the Robledo Family Winery out of Napa Valley.
The 2009 Tempranillo is “a bright ruby color with heavy aromas of cranberry, blackberry, cinnamon, spice and toasted oak.” The site also mentions the Tempranillo pairs great with grilled meats, veggies, and even pizza.
The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc is a bronze medal winner at 2011 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. “Aromas of honeysuckle and mango waft from your glass,” mentions the site. It pairs well with tuna and light salads.
We created a beautiful basket with the two wines from www.cawineclub.com and headed to a friends for dinner.
All of us thoroughly enjoyed the wine. My favorite was (shocker) the white wine. I appreciated the crisp, fruity taste of the Sauvignon Blanc. My husband opted for the red wine and enjoyed the oak flavor.
The California Wine Club offers four different wine club options to choose from: the premier, signature series, international selections, and aged Cabernet series. Their most popular option is the premier, which is perfect for the wine novice. All of their clubs include a 12 page magazine to Uncorked, which offers an up-close and personal look at the family behind the wines, plus recipes and more.
I think this is a wonderful gift to give anyone year-round, but especially at the holidays. There are no membership fees and you can cancel at any time. They also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee!
So head on over and check out The California Wine Club and all they have to offer! Next month I’ll be receiving another shipment of their most popular wine for the month and can’t wait to tell you guys about it, plus I’ll be hosting a giveaway so stay tuned! 🙂

My best friend is quite the wine consumer, so maybe this would be something she could enjoy? I never know what to give her because if she wants something, she buys it. This could work!

They say a little wine every day is good for you. I need to try some good wine because the wines I have tasted in the past, I didn’t like. My daughter use to drink it, I just always passed.

Oh I remember several years ago I found this charming little winery in Napa that had the BEST Dolcetto in the world and joined their wine cub. I loved having different wines every month. Now, I am afraid I am off wine for the next several months but I miss it.
